What are cookies?
Cookies usually consist of strings of text that websites (known as “publishers” or “first parties”) visited by the User or other websites or web servers (known as “third parties”) place and store – either directly, in the case of publishers, or indirectly, i.e., in case of “third parties” – on a terminal device available to the User (for example, a computer, a tablet, a smartphone, or any other device capable of storing information).
The software used for browsing the internet and the operation of these devices, such as browsers, can store cookies and then transmit them back to the sites that have generated them on the occasion of a subsequent visit by the same User, thus keeping memory of his previous interaction with one or more websites.
The information encoded in cookies includes, but is not limited to: the type of browser used (for example, Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox); the domain name from which the User accesses the Internet; the website from which the User reached the Website; the date and time of access. This information is needed, for example, for a more efficient browsing and use of a website or is needed to enable certain functions, to avoid entering the same information (such as, for example, the user name and password) at each access, for statistical purposes or to customize a site according to the User’s preferences.
Why do we use cookies?
The Website uses cookies to facilitate and improve User’s browsing experience (technical cookies), to analyze each User’s use of the Website and collect access statistics (analytical cookies) and/or to ensure that the advertising content displayed online is more targeted to the User and his interests (profiling cookies).
